Extend IBM Workload Automation to your Applications
You invested a lot of your organization’s time and resources to ensure its batch processing runs smoothly on IBM Workload Automation (IWA). Deploy a fast and cost-effective ROI multiplier making your solution stand out even more: extend IWA with Automatic IT plug-ins to applications beyond the “out of the box” integrations.
The plug-ins extend IBM Workload Automation with an easy to use GUI and the code to integrate with the desired application. Current and 2016 Q3 General Availability plug-ins include the following:
|Analytics/Database||Teradata||Our Teradata plug-in supports managing Multiload, FastExport, FastLoad, TPump (Parallel Data Pump), BTEQ, and Tbuild utilities as IBM Workload Scheduler Jobs. The plug-in adds new job types for each of the Teradata utilities, where utility specific job definition panels are available through the Workload Designer panel of the Dynamic Workload Console. By using our plug-in, customers eliminate the need to develop wrapper scripts when running Teradata jobs through IBM Workload Scheduler.|
|Legacy Systems||OpenVMS (Q3 2016)||Our OpenVMS job plug-in adds a new job type that allows customers to schedule DCL Commands or DCL Procedures as IBM Workload Scheduler jobs. The new job type also supports File watcher jobs that can monitor for the existence of files on a specified OpenVMS server.|
Event Action Plug-ins
|Incident Management||Remedyforce||Our Remedyforce plug-in adds an IWS Event Rule Action that inserts incident records into a specified Remedyforce table. The event rule action allows for the definition of attributes that support specifying the table columns to populated when performing a Remedyforce action, as well as the values to assign to each column in the inserted records. IWS Event Rule variables can be used to specify all or part of column values. The plug-in uses the Remedyforce REST Web Services interface to insert new incidents.|
|ServiceNow||Our ServiceNow plug-in adds an IWS Event Rule Action that inserts incident records into a specified ServiceNow table. The event rule action allows for the definition of attributes that support specifying the table columns to populated when performing a ServiceNow action, as well as the values to assign to each column in the inserted records. IWS Event Rule variables can be used to specify all or part of column values. The plug-in uses the ServiceNow REST Web Services interface to insert new incidents.|
|Zendesk||Our Zendesk plug-in adds an IWS Event Rule Action that inserts incident records into a specified Zendesk table. The event rule action allows for the definition of attributes that support specifying the table columns to populated when performing a Zendesk action, as well as the values to assign to each column in the inserted records. IWS Event Rule variables can be used to specify all or part of column values. The plug-in uses the Zendesk REST Web Services interface to insert new incidents.|
Plug-ins eliminate your organization’s dependence upon precious and expensive developer time to integrate applications with your IBM Tivoli Workload Automation solution.
Past integration in IBM Workload Automation with non-standard applications involved creating “wrappers” of code to perform the integration. These were often developed then maintained by the organization’s developers, taking them away from valuable business-facing and revenue enhancing activities.
Even when the wrappers worked, they required schedulers and operators be trained and versed in the CLI-like syntax required by the wrappers. We found that especially in today’s high-temp, fast reactivity environments, this led to costly and time-consuming mistakes.
Automatic IT plug-ins encapsulate all the development ahead of time, and deliver the results in a friendly GUI that uses the same terminology that the application’s business analysts are already familiar with. This lets your scheduling team delegate the creation of the jobs to the application team, saving even more time and effort.
The plug-in GUI is seamlessly embedded into the existing IBM Workload Automation GUI, and uses pre-existing staff training in the IWA GUI.
Automatic IT offers an industry first and only guarantee of its kind on plug-ins for all third-party applications.
All third-party application integrations selected by Automatic IT are developed at no charge.
This means any third-party application your organization uses and wants to use through a plug-in with IBM Workload Automation can be selected by Automatic IT for free development, with a qualified purchasing commitment. We will work with your team to develop the plug-in to meet your requirements and ensure it works in your environment. The plug-in is sold just like any other normal plug-in license (either by PVU or per job). You only purchase once the plug-in meets the requirements. It’s as simple as that.
If your organization has a one-of-a-kind, custom, or in-house application that it wants to integrate with IBM Workload Automation, then Automatic IT develops plug-ins for such under risk-limited, fixed-price service engagements. Please contact your Automatic IT representative for details.
While our track record of satisfied clients and accomplishments speaks volumes, you take a risk every time you engage a new consulting company, and most consultants do not even share that risk with you. That’s not fair to you or your company, and you deserve better than a one-sided deal. Any consultant confident in the value they deliver to you should be able to back up that confidence.
Here is our offer to back up your decision to let us help you extend IBM Workload Automation with a no risk, no obligation measure of the value we’re confident you and your team will experience:
If, for whatever reason, you decide that you’re not getting the value that you seek for your IBM Workload Automation extension after the first month in production, you don’t pay a single penny. Period.
This means the purchase order, check or purchase card credit for the license will simply be returned to you, no hard feelings. We will even help your team remove the plug-in software.
This truly turns what is normally a risky decision to extend a solution on its head. Instead of leaving all the risk in your hands, we share the risk of your project with you as much as we possibly can because we believe in your project, the value of the project’s upgrade goals, and the value you will find in our services in realizing those goals. Now when was the last time a consulting company made this kind of up front guarantee to you and your team?
We work quickly. It typically takes just 1-5 days to extend each scheduling network (a Master Domain Manager and its associated CPUs) with a new plug-in from start to finish, and one day to train your staff.
