Class TWS2: Operators


Summary: Hands-on instruction for operators on the usage of the Workload Scheduler GUI. Everything operators will need to know to successfully monitor and operationally manage Workload Scheduler on a daily basis. Shift supervisors, operations managers, and other operators (print, job setup, and console) also benefit from this class.

Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Windows systems (Unix if operators will use Unix workstations).

Class TWS3: Schedulers


Summary:
Learn all the concepts and skills necessary to plan, implement, and manage a batch schedule using Workload Scheduler. Aimed at anyone who wants to design, deploy and maintain job definitions. The material is also suitable for functional/business analysts who are responsible for gathering requirements for the batch schedule and need a comprehensive grounding in the capabilities of the product.

Class TWS4: Administrators


Summary:
Acquire all the skills and knowledge necessary to design, install, configure, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot Workload Scheduler. This class is an intensive advanced course, and attendees are advised to be proficient in system administration skills of the platform of choice for their site. Shell scripting proficiency is recommended.

Class TWS5: Developers


Summary:
In-house developers responsible for writing the job programs that are called by Workload Scheduler learn in this course the most efficient and optimal design strategies to take advantage of the features of the system. The course is heavily oriented towards working with Workload Scheduler at the command line level to interface it to job programs.

Class TWS6: Exam Prep

This two-week class gives attendees the experience necessary to attempt the IBM Certification Exam for Tivoli Workload Scheduler Version 7.0. There are only 3,000 Tivoli Certified Professionals in the world, and only a fraction of them hold a certification in Workload Scheduler. Enterprises that desire an objective and convenient assurance of an independent capability to manage Workload Scheduler seek certification in Workload Scheduler for their administrators. This class is only open to administrators or senior technical staff.
